Wax, paint and fabric
15-17 November 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During these three days, the focus is on designing fabric using wax and paint. Whether by chance or planning, there are numerous design possibilities with this technique. Stamp and stencil printing complete the whole thing. We work with Procion and soy wax, both of which are included in the material costs.
Of course, I will again provide a wide range of work materials so that the material list remains manageable. The resulting fabrics are suitable for many sewing projects, such as patchwork, clothing, bags and cushions.
As always, we work in small groups so that each participant can receive individual support. Previous knowledge is therefore not necessary.

From 17 to 22 March 2025
I am offering three workshops with the VHS Menden-Hemer-Balve, all of which deal with the topic of "writing and material". The courses can be booked individually, but it is also possible to book two or all three.
Paper meets fabric
17-18 March 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sewing paper and processing it like a fabric? Impossible? Not at all! The paper lamination technique allows us to make a flexible fabric from a piece of paper. In this workshop we will make collages using this technique. Gold foil and hand and machine embroidery complete the work. Framed and fitted with a passe-partout, the collage makes a lovely gift or decoration for your own home.
No previous knowledge is required for this workshop, as we work in a small group and each participant is looked after individually.

Font printed on fabric

The trade offers numerous stencils and stamps with lettering and text. Many people are familiar with using them to print on paper, but on fabric? No problem with the right color. Integrating writing into a textile work gives you a lot of scope for creativity. We will design fabric with writing and then add yarn and fabric pieces with the felting machine. Hand and machine embroidery add further accents. This creates textile works that can be framed.
Felting machines will be provided. No previous knowledge is required for this workshop, as we work in a small group and each participant is looked after individually.

Geli plate, acrylic paint and fabric
21-22 March 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You don't always need textile paint to print text on fabric. You can create wonderful designs on fabric using acrylic paint, a gel plate and lettering stencils. The resulting fabrics can be embroidered by machine or by hand. Gel plates are provided.
No previous knowledge is required for this workshop, as we work in a small group and each participant is looked after individually.
